We organize the au pair program together with our partner - interexchange
InterExchange is a private, non-profit organization with over 50 years of experience in cultural exchange. They are dedicated to promoting international understanding through intercultural, educational and work/training opportunities. Over the years, tens of thousands of young people have been placed both in the United States and abroad in cooperation with international partner organizations and government agencies. InterExchange is a designated sponsor of several Bridge USA programs, including the Au Pair Program.
This is how your Au Pair program will look like
Program advantages
- Long-term programUnder the Au Pair program, you have the chance to spend a minimum of 12 months in a fascinating country, combining work and travel. What’s more, there is an option to extend the program for up to another 6-9-12 months!
- Free Accommodation and FoodYou will stay with a friendly family where you will receive your own room and full board. This is an ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and experience authentic life in the country.
- Salary and Educational BonusesYou will receive a salary of $200 per week, plus up to $500 for education at an accredited university in the US. It’s not just a job, it’s also an investment in your development!

Eligibility Requirements
- Have at least 500 hours of experience working with children
- Be between 18 and 26 years old upon arrival to the U.S.
- Speak conversational English (B1 Level Recommended)
- Have completed secondary school sigh school a Commit to being in the USA for 12 months
- Have a valid driver’s license and 6 months of experience driving
- Be in good physical and mental health
- Clean police/criminal record
Cost of the program
- Registration fee: 1000 PLNCovers costs associated with processing documents, booking places, and supporting the registration process
- Visa Fee: $185Necessary for legal stay in the United States, covering administrative costs and the visa process
- Transportation to the place where ta visa is obtained and to the airport:Own expense, including travel to the place where the visa procedure will be carried out and departure to the US (we will determine the departure city individually)
- Pocket money:It is advisable to have additional funds for any unforeseen expenses or emergencies
- The rest of the costs (airline ticket, insurance, etc.) are covered by the American side, providing comprehensive support and providing necessary services in the USA.
Registration
- Applicants complete an easy-to-use application, providing details about their personality, childcare experience, educational background, and preferences.
- Two childcare references and one character reference are required, which can be uploaded directly to the application.
Health and Background Check
- Au Pairs must undergo a health exam and provide proof of vaccination against Covid-19.
- Clean police report/criminal background check, driver's license, and passport copies are required.
In-Person Interview
- Au Pair meets with Easy Travel Abroad recruiter in person for a required interview.
- During this meeting recruiter will review and provide feedback on the Au Pair’s application, discuss all the details and answers all questions regarding the program.
Matching Process
- Our Matching Team helps Au Pairs find suitable host families quickly.
Visa Application Packet
- Once the family and Au Pair confirm their match, InterExchange will send a packet of important documents necessary for the Au Pair's J-1 visa application.
- The Easy Travel Abroad recruiter will provide Au Pair with all the visa instructions, and organise a Zoom call to discuss the embassy appointment.
Training Requirement - Online Au Pair Academy
- Au Pairs complete required training through the online Au Pair Academy.
- Training covers CPR, first aid, American culture, living with a host family, and emergency contacts.
Flight Arrangements
- InterExchange arranges the flight from the designated departure city to the host family's community.
- Au Pairs are responsible for reaching the airport and any baggage fees.
- Arrival options on Tuesdays or Thursdays of most weeks.
Program Period - Local Coordinator Support
- Au Pairs have a Local Coordinator in their host family community for ongoing support.
- Monthly activities organized to meet other Au Pairs and experience American culture.
- Local Coordinator provides assistance throughout the program year.
After the Program
- Au Pairs have up to 30 days for travel around the US and settling affairs.
- InterExchange books the au pair's flight home after successful program completion.
